Skyley's Kindergarten "I Pledge Allegiance" program

Yesterday, Feb.6, 2009 Skyley's kindergarten class did a patriotic program. It was adorable. They sang songs (Yankee Doodle, Star Spangled Banner, God Bless the USA) and they each said little parts; Sky's part was "Each State has its own name, bird, song and flower." She practiced it for weeks and did a great job!!

During the last few weeks while they were doing the lessons on the USA, they were each assigned a president to do a little report on, basically finding 3 or 4 facts and presenting them to the class. Skyley had James Madison, so our research began... She found out that 1) His wife's name was Dolley, 2) he was the first president to wear pants, 3) He was president from 1809-1817 and 4) He helped write the Constitution. While we were practicing for her report I was asking her questions like.. His wife's name was?? and she'd reply "Dolley" - He was president from? - and while I was waiting for her to say 1809-1817, she thought for a second and said "from SEA to SHINING SEA" - It was the funniest and cutest moment.
